Notion Systems expands product portfolio with amcoss technologies and strengthens market position in the semiconductor industry

As part of the strategic development within the LAB14 Group, to which amcoss GmbH also belongs, the production structure is being specifically adapted. Against this background, the production of systems at the Koblach site will be discontinued on March 31, 2026. The aim of this measure is to focus existing resources more strongly on those business areas that are developing positively in the long term.

The production of amcoss Systems’ single wafer processing equipment will be continued at Notion Systems’ factory in Schwetzingen, Germany. Notion Systems is also part of the LAB14 Group and stands for modern, customized, and sustainable substrate processing and process optimization in semiconductor and microsystem technology. The comprehensive technological expertise of amcoss Systems will be fully integrated into the production and development processes of Notion Systems. This will ensure the continued delivery of proven equipment and services to existing and future customers.

By consolidating its production activities in Schwetzingen, Notion Systems is not only boosting manufacturing efficiency, but also laying the foundation for further growth and accelerated innovation. The site is being expanded in a targeted manner to meet rising demand and bring new technological solutions to market more quickly.

amcoss’ core business—the manufacture of components and comprehensive services for the semiconductor industry—remains unaffected by this measure. This area will continue to be operated entirely at the Feldkirch site. The company is in a stable position for these services in a dynamic market environment and will receive even more intensive support from LAB14 in the future.

Dr. Thorsten Kampen, CEO of Notion Systems and amcoss, explains: “Following last year’s merger with Osiris International, relocating system production to Schwetzingen is the next logical step in scaling our innovations, expanding our market reach, and offering our customers worldwide unmatched added value. This move will enable us to deliver fully integrated next-generation solutions for semiconductor, MEMS, and advanced display manufacturing even faster and more efficiently.

From a sales perspective, this acquisition also opens up new opportunities for customers and Notion Systems’ market presence. Uwe Müller, Sales Director at amcoss Systems, adds: “I am delighted to be able to continue offering amcoss Systems’ high-quality, high-tech systems together with Notion Systems in the future. The combination of our proven portfolio with the global strength of Notion Systems offers enormous potential and creates new opportunities to support our customers even more individually, comprehensively, and with innovative solutions.

As sister companies of the LAB14 Group, Notion Systems and amcoss Systems reaffirm their shared goal of supporting customers worldwide with high-precision, reliable, and future-oriented system solutions and of driving sustainable technological advancement in the semiconductor and microsystems industry. With this realignment, the group of companies is also laying the foundation for long-term stable development and a clear focus on future-oriented business areas.

Martin Wynaendts, CEO of the LAB14 Group, explains: “This decision is part of our clear strategic orientation within the LAB14 Group: We are pooling expertise where it has the greatest impact, thereby laying the foundation for sustainable growth and technological excellence. By integrating the expertise of amcoss Systems into Notion Systems in Schwetzingen, we are strengthening the innovative power of the entire group. In this way, we are ensuring that LAB14 will remain a reliable and forward-looking partner for the semiconductor and microsystems industry in the future.
